With the new financial year fast approaching here in Australia, it is an excellent time to get your website, photography and branding updated, as they make for a great tax write off! I’ve got some time on my hands between now and the end of the financial year, with only a few video projects in the works, so I’d love to work on your new website. WordPress 3.0 is out

Well it’s finally arrived, the long awaited update to the very popular blogging and content management system software, wordpress, is here. I did a test run of updating my blog to WordPress 3.0 and it was very succesful, only had to make a few adjustments to my theme in order to get it to work nicely with WP3, the biggest issue was the new menu system that WP has. Overall the update went smoothly with minimal hickups, I’m running through updating the rest of my blogs and websites right now.

If you would like a hand updating your wordpress install, please let me know and I’ll help you through it, or I can update it for you if you want. If you are doing it yourself, I would highly recommend getting a good back of your current setup, from the theme through to your database and attachments, make sure you have a good fall back position if things go awry.

Video Projects

Well I’ve been working on some new videp projects, a couple for Blaque Studios and a few other clients. Mostly motion graphics created in Adobe After Effects, here’s a brief sample of one of the videos I’ve been working on, check it out:

Just thought I’d share a few of the websites that I’ve completed over the last couple of months, a bit of a showcase blog post. I’ll be posting these up in the portfolio section real soon too.

Sarah Kinsey & Uxcel:

Sarah Kinsey contacted me to do a whole brand make over for her thriving real estate agency. This involved 2 personal websites for the two main agents (Sarah Kinsey and Jan Di Rosso),  a make over for their tired looking real estate website, updated photography for their marketing material, twitter backgrounds as well as some assistance with their social media marketing efforts. Here are some of the results of my work:

Willows Rest:

Alan & Lee approached me to create a website and some landscape and interior photography of their lovely property situated in the rolling hills of Mulallyup, just 5kms outside of Balingup. Here is their website and some of the photos of their property and the characters on it !

Well as you may have noticed, I have a new design for this website.. it’s still a work in progress, hoping to have it finished over the weekend, just depends on a few client projects that I’m also working on at the moment.

I’ve just finished up a project for Residential Settlements, it was a bit of a facelift for their website, as the old site was looking a little tired and ready for a make over! So I customised a new theme for their word press install. The new theme has integrated social media sharing solutions as well as numerous custom functions just for their needs.

Well I’m still working on a few projects with this site, as mentioned in my previous blog posts.. but in the mean time I’ve got a few more photos for you to check out. We’ve done a little bit of hiking and I’ve also been working on my limited edition panoramic photographs.. I’ve got a few to show you:

Heaps of people have been hitting this site after seeing my photos of the storm over perth on Ten News, Nine News, NineMSN, WAToday, The West Australian.. just to name a few! I’m absolutely loving the extra traffic and all the messages, emails and comments have been great. I thought I’d post the photos up here as well.. if you click on each photo it will take you to a place where you can order prints of the images.

If you are looking for more of my landscape photography, you’ve come to the right website, this site is in the process of getting rebuilt at the moment and I’m adding up more and more photos each day, I also add my web & graphic design projects on here and soon some videography & motion graphics projects.

I know it has been a long time between posts.. there’s been an awful lot happening. First of all, I’ve launched my studio website (http://blaquestudios.com.au) with my wedding and portrait photography, I’m still looking for a premises to open my studio up in, but we’ll get there!

Well I’ve been messing around heaps with my new camera (Canon EOS 5DmkII) and lense (Canon 16-35mm f2.8L) and I’m pretty happy with the results so far.

Bec and I made a trip up to Two Rocks, north of Perth to give our new Subaru Forester a bit of a run, while we were up there I decided to get some shots and try out the camera. Here are the results:

Then last night I decided to do a re-shoot of the iconic Crawley Edge Boathouse on the Swan River in Perth, I’m really happy with the results, the white balance control on the 5D is exceptional:

Well I’ve been featured in the Jetstar Photo Comp, which means I automatically get a basic prize, here’s to hoping that I get further than just featured :-D
